Mitchell received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a Minor in Economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has experience designing, building, and effectively using experimental systems for high-precision measurements of material properties. He has synthesized phase change materials and surface chemistries for efficient and cost-effective thermal energy storage. Mitch serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Active Energy Systems and is graduate of the first cohort of Innovation Crossroads at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
