Ernesto Isaac Borrego is cofounder and CEO of HAND Technologies, where he leads a team focused on accelerating the production of ultrahigh-performance aerospace materials via novel synthetic resins. Ernesto brings approximately 10 years of specialized experience leading the development of the revolutionary BODA RESIN platform. He has successfully leveraged this technical background to generate over $7 million in critical nondilutive funds for the company. As CEO, he has successfully raised more than $1.6 million in private investments. As the lead on all of HAND’s business development efforts, Ernesto drives the core funding acquisition and strategic customer acquisition to ensure technical breakthroughs translate directly into the commercial scale.

HAND Technologies is a start-up committed to making carbon materials manufacturing quick and easy in a slow and complicated $50 billion carbon materials market. HAND intends to work with ORNL to commercialize new resin materials from its unique and exclusive BODA chemistry, a material breakthrough that radically reduces the timeline for manufacturing ultrahigh-performance carbon composites. The composite work that will be carried out in this effort will solve a critical bottleneck in the defense and aerospace supply chain, in which complex parts for thermal protection systems and missile materials currently take 9 months to produce.
