Dan Miller serves as the Program Lead for Innovation Crossroads, where he coordinates the review and selection process for new cohorts, leads efforts to help innovators develop and execute Cooperative Research and Development Agreements with ORNL, and leads effort to connect innovators with potential customers and investors throughout the region. Dan has an MBA from the University of Tennessee and worked in technology transfer at Rice University before joining ORNL in 2010.
Gary Rawlings, Technology Consultant, is primarily responsible for helping each innovator create a new successful advanced technology-based company founded on their proprietary technologies. In this role he will provide guidance and coaching on all aspects of company evolution from technology validation and scale up to raising capital. Dr. Rawlings has spent the majority of his career creating and commercializing advanced technology based new products for large global corporations. In recent years he has been a coach and mentor for hundreds of advanced technology-based startups, helping them raise >$20 million in early stage capital. Since moving to Tennessee he has helped mentor early stage companies for LaunchTN, Life Science TN, Advanced Energy Business Council, and Innovation Crossroads. He has a B.S. and M.S. in Nuclear Physics and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering.
Kelly Wampler directs the delivery of operational support for Innovation Crossroads, including the coordination of the rigorous selection process, development and maintenance of the Innovation Crossroads handbook, assisting Innovators with on-boarding and navigating their experience at ORNL, and helping coordinate all aspects of communication about the program. Kelly has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tennessee Technological University.
